VALERIE BARKOWSKI

Valerie Barkowski, was born in Belgium in 1964 and has been travelling to Morocco, India and Russia since graduating from fine arts institute "Sint Lukas" in Gent.

She discovered Morocco early on and began working with local artisans there.
In 1997 she moved to Morocco and started the brand Mia Zia which rapidly became an international reference in the world of fashion accessories, home furnishing and linens.

Following a hiatus working as an art dealer in Moscow, she returned with her husband to Morocco and cemented their passion for art with the creation of SAHART, an international art foundation in the medina of Marrakech.

In 2009 she created the brand BANDIT QUEEN for Sunita Namjoshi, entrepreneur and founder of the company SYNERGY LIFESTYLE in Mumbai.

She is currently using her creativity and experience as a consultant to home linen and furnishing brands, exclusive hotels and high end boutiques.
