An itinerary
In 1978, after graduating from the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Appliqués in Paris, in the textile department, Florence Dufieux spends three years in Japan and studies at the Fine Arts School in Kyoto. There, she studies traditional methods of fabrics printing. But she also approaches the Japanese art of living, thinking, working, apprehending nature, that will lead her path for her research and creations.
Back to France, she works at the home design department of Jean Charles de Castelbajac. Then, she joins Eliakim studio and works on fabrics patterns collections for Japan, furniture design, faiences, lamps, crystal, hand print forHaute Couture, stage design.
In 1996, she launches the Kanis workshop where hand painted fabrics pieces are created and showcased to develop custumized proposals for french and foreign decorators (Paris, London, Hamburg, New York).
Besides, she teaches at Palais de la Culture of Puteaux City.
