The bathroom has really become a room to live in, a space for relaxation. Consumers invest in their well being, they renew and personalize their scenery. Professionals are looking for original and functional ideas, esthetic and easy to use equipment…
Sportive, classic, familial, design or oriental …, the bathroom can take on an appearance that goes beyond its primary function, becoming a place where we linger for our own enjoyment and relaxation.
- Taps
You have three major choices for taps : regular taps, mixers, and thermostatic mixers.
Regular taps are in two parts: one for the cold water, the other for the hot water. Mixers have a unique control to regulate precisely and single handily the water flow and temperature. For thermostatic mixers, you need only select the desired temperature on the graduation, and then you can adjust the water flow with the other control.
- Sinks and basins
There are different widths of sinks, from the smallest only around twenty centimetres wide (hand basin), to the largest: one meter.
Inset basins are fitted in; to the surround in order to integrate into the bathroom furniture of your choice. Some inset basins are fitted from underneath: they sit under the surround (this is for marble basins only).
Pedestal basins: this type of basin, enamelled on all faces, usually comes with isolated pieces of furniture in the bathroom (bowl type basins). Basin surrounds come either in a single unit or can be fixed to the wall.
Basins and their surrounds can be made out of ceramic, synthesis material, marble, granite or glass.
- Bathtubs
You have three main choices of material for your bathtub: acrylic, steel, cast iron.
Acrylic is the synthesis material renown for its lightness and the softness it has to the touch. It is the best for keeping the water warm.
As for enamelled steel, it is robust, economic and easy to install.
Cast iron is the most robust of all, and is characterized by its steadiness over time.
- Showers
There are many choices, from the simple 70x70 ceramic shower basin, to the most varied shapes: square, round, moonshaped…
You can also go for the basic mixer to the built in hydro jets systems.
The recent development of columns allows you to transform your shower into a low cost relaxation space. Shower panels and screens will protect your bathroom from floods while combining quality, design and functionality. The frameless glass models will bring more transparence into the bathroom. Safety glass is shock resistant. You can also find shower partitions with doors that will swing, fold or slid and even pendulum doors.
- WC
There are three main choices regarding WC: the complete WC set where the reservoir is linked to toilet seat, or the built-in support for which the reservoir is fitted in to the wall and only the seat is visible (this gives better hygiene, since the seat is attached to the wall and therefore has no contact with the ground). Finally, there is the independent toilet seats for which the reservoir is fixed to the wall in a high or semi-high position. Ideal for installations in restricted space.
