John Beavan UK Cabinet Makers work with a growing list of private individuals, interior designers and architects throughout the UK. Clients are encouraged to be as involved as possible, to discuss their visions and styles and to visit the workshops at any time throughout the making of their commission.
Please contact us if you would like one of our designers to discuss a project with you.
John Beavan UK Cabinet Makers workshops occupy around 9600sqft , incorporating separate areas for machining, bench work, veneering, polishing and a large assembly area.
The workshops are constantly being developed, not only to ensure that we meet with new regulations, but also to create a more productive workplace where the staff are encouraged to offer practical suggestions which are often put into practice.
We work from drawings developed by our design team, use the finest hand selected woods and veneers and produce detailed furniture and joinery to the highest standards.
A range of finishes are achieved from high lacquer to traditional polish and methods of aging are used where appropriate or necessary.
Environmental and our workshop
John Beavan UK Cabinet Makers has always been conscious of our impact on the environment and continuously aims to improve efficiency and practice.
The workshops are insulated to a high specification keeping them warm in winter and cool in summer. A sawdust burner uses waste materials for heating during cold periods and low energy bulbs and tubes provide the lighting.
All materials used come from sustainable sources or are FSC certificated. Around 75% is purchased locally from farms and estates that have fallen or mature trees that need felling and the remaining 25% comes from farmed woodlands.
Our mill is on-site and here these trees are cut into boards and allowed to dry before use.
Other workshop waste is minimised by purchasing products with returnable packaging or without any packaging
