Lutson Goudleder

Lutson is a manufacture of gilded leather, the so called Cordovan or Flemish leathers.

Our intrest in the gilded leather dates from the mid eighties.
Setting up the technique took us several years.
Archive designs were the main source for constituting our collection
Inspiration for the technique came, amongst other sources, from the ?secret book? from Jan Vermeulen 1677 ?Schoone, diversche en eerlijcke konsten gevonden door Jan Vermeulen? to be found in the archives of the city of Mechelen.
Our technique has evolved and ended in a new technique where, despite of some concessions to modernity, the spirit and the aspect of the gilded leather is maintained.

Production started in the late 80?s early 90?s

Interior Design is our main outlet, except for the Us market and some interventions in the French Department of the Hautes Pyrénées, we hardly have been involved in heritage.

Embossing moulds are home made, materials are rigorously selected.
All paints and finishes are hand applied.
This total control of all production aspects allows us to respond to the requests of most of our customers.
